BEAM Alumni

The BEAM program gave me the confidence and courage to make every dream I ever had come true. Not too bad for a girl from the East Side of Buffalo.
— Jacqueline Evans - Distribution Security Operator for the Western Regional Control Center, National Grid

Alumni are the legacy of BEAM.

Their journey from participant to professional is a powerful testament to the impact of BEAM’s programming, connections, and opportunity. By returning as industry leaders, mentors, and role models, alumni provide invaluable real-world insights and encouragement, showing our current students that anything is possible.

BEAM’s Alumni create a continuous cycle of support, building a strong, vibrant community where lived experience and shared purpose empower the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Alumni Sponsorship (and individual membership) is open to anyone who is interested in supporting and promoting STEM education and the engineering fields.

If you are a proud past BEAM participant or someone in STEM education and/or engineering fields and want to help our students acquire that invaluable first-person knowledge and experience, becoming an Alumni Sponsor or Individual Member is for you!

Quote from Nnenna L. I. Johnson about learning engineering at age 11, on a blue background.
A teacher and two students in a classroom, one student is crouching and holding a handheld device, while the other student is standing and holding a paper. There is a large screen and a blackboard behind them.
A young girl is touching a large, shiny, metal sphere that is part of a science exhibit on high voltage electricity, surrounded by lightning-themed decor.
Two people in a workshop or lab, one man wearing a flat cap and a blue shirt showing an object on the table, the other person observing, with shelves stocked with kitchen appliances, boxes, and supplies behind them.
Group of young people working on a creative project at a table, surrounded by art supplies and tools, in a classroom or workshop setting.
